Beside solving investors' problems, linear programming can be extended to accommodate the conflict of interests among developers, the government and consumers. It not only produces a comprehensive decision but also satisfies all participant's objectives. In addition to the allocation problem, it has been suggested in the literature that linear programming could be applied to estimate the value of property using suitably qualified comparable sales. The opportunity is taken to include such an application to Perth residential sales data as a further case study. This study also acknowledges some difficulties in obtaining detailed information and in meeting linear programming assumptions for some cases. When data requirements and assumptions cannot be satisfied, linear programming may not be an appropriate model.
